Nnanna is a Lecturer in Finance at the Adam Smith Business School. Prior to his lectureship at the University of Glasgow, he was an Associate Lecturer at Coventry University.

Nnanna's research involves the use of large-scale observational datasets and quasi-experimental approaches, with a focus on policy-relevant issues in developing contexts. In addition to studies in Household (and Education) Finance, Nnanna's research spans market-based empirical studies, with recent projects examining the efficiency of capital markets; the effects of foreign portfolio investments on market instability; and financial intermediation & development. 

Nnanna's teaching is underpinned by research, and he maintains good connections with practice (industry). He is keen on employability and advocates experiential learning. He is undertaking some Scholarship (of Teaching and Learning) projects aimed at bridging gaps between theory and practice, making graduates work-ready.

With a background in Mathematics (and Education), Nnanna completed a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Finance with distinction; and a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Economics. He is an affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) of the United Kingdom.
